Your personal growth journey seen as a staircase

spiral staircase

Your personal growth journey is a constant one, it is something we are working on our entire lives and sometimes it is difficult to maintain focus.

It can also, at times, feel like you are getting nowhere.

Your personal growth journey seen as a staircase

Visualisation is a helpful tool in guiding you and help you to maintain focus or even to have a better understanding of what you are trying to achieve and in this case you can visualise your personal growth journey as a staircase.

The top of each step, where you place your foot

Here are all those moments where you learn about yourself , all those little Ah-Ha moments and every now and then that big lightbulb moment that brings clarity and understanding.

Those moments of quiet reflection, that all lead up to a better understanding of who you are and why you are the way you are.

That constant upward direction towards the person we wish to be.

Forever climbing and reaching new heights.

The rise between each step

Your personal growth journey seen as a staircase must have steps.

These rises represent those challenging moments in life, when you are faced with a situation that forces you to look at yourself.

It could be a situation where you can put into practice what you have learnt or it may be a bigger event, but there will be challenges.

and the challenge is often how you react within this event/situation, will you will rise up to the next step, stay where you are or do you go back down a step?

If this last thing happens to you, don’t be hard on yourself. Life is made up of setbacks. It’s the way we remember what we do not want in lives, but the truth of the matter is, is that it is exhausting constantly trying to create personal growth, you do need a rest.

The landing

The truth of the matter is, is that it is exhausting constantly trying to create personal growth and sometimes you do need a rest.

Remember personal growth isn’t a constant thing.

There will be times in life where life just takes over and these are moments of rest.

These may also be moments where you are taking your time to reflect on an Ah-Ha moment, or trying to figure out how it all fits in together.

A moment of quiet self-reflection.

The rails

There will be times when you feel like you have hit a brick wall and you need some help and that’s okay and sometimes you just need someone to help you see things in a different light or from a different perspective.

This can also represent the people in your life who are there to support you along the way.

It’s okay to ask for help, we all need it at some point in our lives.

There is no ‘one size fits all’ solution.

I have mentioned this before. Your personal growth journey is unique to you.

We all know that different issues come up during different phases in lives and we are constantly facing new challenges.

So, let us be practical.

Running up the stairs, while it gets you to the top faster, it is not sustainable.

Neither is running up them two at a time. You may miss important step and try not to rush it.

Celebrate the small steps as well as the big ones and do your best not to lose yourself to the process.

It will not always be easy; in fact, it is often a painful journey.

Just know……. It is always worth the effort because you are always worth the effort.
