No-one is going to argue with you when we say that 2020 has been a tough year. There is not a person in the world who was not affected in some way by what is going on globally.
There has been so much loss and heartache this year.
We have all faced challenges that have forced us to re-examen our way of being, our way of doing and our way of thinking.
We have needed to be more aware of our surroundings and how we conduct ourselves.
We have needed to think of others more often than before.
We have banded together to show our support for complete strangers.
In isolation we have learnt to reconnect with others,
But we have also come face to face with ourselves.
So, goodbye 2020
You have taught us so much.
You have knocked us down, but also
You have given us hope that the coming year.
A year of new possibilities
A year of finding new and creative ways to connect with others.
A year of hope.
A year of love.
A year of reflection.

You were not an easy year to live through. You were full of challenges, heartache, and disappointments.
But we are stronger.
We will learn from you, adapt, and be all the stronger for it.
We will rise above with grace and love and show 2021 what we are made of.
Once again goodbye 2020 and bring on the hope for a better 2021.
Side note: many of us who have immigrated are facing the fact that it might be a while before we get to go home. Homesickness, loneliness, and depression are some of the emotions intensified this past year.
Please try to remember that happiness is not founded in a location, but rather in the connection you have with others. Try and find peace a solace within those connections, in whatever form they take, until the day you can hold those loved ones in your arms once more.
